I can’t recall just where I read it, but some time back I happened upon the assertion that no blog was complete without a few quotes.
I feel like quotes are an unobtrusive way of sharing bits of wisdom without being ‘preachy’ and turning people away from what are, in their essence, ideas of timeless worth and deep intrinsic value.
At the moment, I am adding a selection of quotes from a tiny little book called “500 Power Packed Pronouncements — They’ll Improve Your Life If You’ll Let Them” compiled by Al Schneider (ISBN 0-938784-00-5). It fits in a shirt pocket … which is where it belongs — YOUR shirt pocket.
I’ve spent the last thirty years reading and re-reading this tiny book. I’ve benefited from it and I think that you will too. I’m not trying to sell you a copy, so no affiliate links this time: just the ISBN number, author and title so you can track it down on your own.
I read the Bible frequently. No, that’s not true … I study it. In either case, I find it to be chock full of thoughts that uplift, guide, direct and even chastise me. But I also read other sources for much the same reason and find that these other authors have often re-stated Bible truths in a more understandable form than the Bible translators did … yet, if you look closely, you will find the same mind looking back at you.
